Welcome to Edgar Zúñiga Jiménez
Edgar Zúñiga is one of the more noticeable figures of Central American contemporary sculpture of recent decades.
Largely formed in the religious imagery workshop of his father, Master Sculptor Manuel María Zúñiga, Edgar, keeping the spirit of that millennial style, creates a contemporary sculpture with great telluric and identity forces, thus developing a renewed plastic expression that puts him in a position of favorable comparison at any latitude of contemporary universal sculture.
This sculptoric concept that the Master has achieved can only be understood when seen through the assiduous conceptual, formal and technical research that has stimulated him to delve into different materials like bronze, iron, wood, stone, waste objects, and pictoric work. Similarly, his work is influenced by his many participations in international sculptor meetings and by his experiences derived form the already many urban works he has created in America and Europe.
